About this display
Display your U.S. coins alongside Seated Liberty, one of the longest-running and most recognizable figures in 19th-century American coinage.
This coin display is inspired by the classic Seated Liberty design associated with U.S. Mint engraver Christian Gobrecht. Liberty is shown seated in classical dress, holding a shield inscribed with “LIBERTY” and a staff topped with a liberty cap.
The design has been adapted into a three-dimensional sculpture with an integrated platform for displaying a coin.
Rather than placing a coin on a generic stand, Aurea Displays connects the coin with the artwork, symbolism and history of American numismatics.
The Seated Liberty design first appeared on U.S. silver coinage in the 1830s and went on to appear across multiple denominations during the 19th century.
Variations of the design was used for :
Liberty is traditionally depicted seated on a rock, dressed in flowing classical robes. In one hand she holds a staff topped with a liberty cap, while the other rests near a shield bearing the word LIBERTY.
The composition combines classical imagery with symbols associated with the ideals of the early United States and became one of the defining designs of American silver coinage during the 19th century.
This sculpture translates that familiar two-dimensional coin design into a full three-dimensional figure for display.
The holder has been physically tested with the main standard U.S. coin denominations and is designed to accommodate a wide range of American coins with different diameters and thicknesses.
It works particularly well with:
Because of the seated design, the display also works well with larger coins such as the Morgan dollar. Even at this larger size, the coin remains stable in the holder and does not cover the main sculptural features of the Seated Liberty figure.
This makes the display especially suitable not only for smaller U.S. denominations, but also for larger and more visually prominent coins that collectors may want to feature.
You may also provide your coin’s diameter and thickness in the optional personalization field for additional fit certainty, particularly when displaying an older or unusual coin.
The sculpture is based on the classic Seated Liberty imagery used on 19th-century United States coinage rather than being a generic representation of Lady Liberty.
Details such as the seated pose, classical drapery, Liberty shield and liberty-cap staff have been retained to preserve the character of the original numismatic design.
The figure has then been adapted to incorporate the coin holder naturally into the composition, allowing the displayed coin to become part of the sculpture itself.
The coin rests naturally on the integrated holder rather than being glued, clamped or permanently attached.
Each display is 3D printed in PLA, allowing the folds of Liberty’s clothing, shield and other sculptural details to remain visible at a compact display size.
The idea is to turn an individual coin into a small historical presentation, connecting the physical coin with the artwork and numismatic period behind it.
The display works especially well with historic American silver coins, including Seated Liberty denominations, but it can also accommodate many later U.S. coin types.
The coin shown in the photographs is for display purposes only and is not included.
Coin dimensions can vary between denominations, dates and historical issues. If you would like additional fit certainty, please provide the diameter and thickness of the coin you intend to display when ordering.
Older U.S. coins can also show small variations from wear, damage or manufacturing tolerances, so minor differences in fit may occur.
