About this display

Display your U.S. coins alongside a seated Lady Liberty sculpture inspired by the portrait on the Peace Dollar.

This coin display reimagines Anthony de Francisci’s Liberty portrait as a full-body classical figure, retaining her distinctive radiate crown and wavy hair. Liberty sits in flowing drapery, with one hand resting on her lap and the other extended to support your coin.

Aurea Displays connects the physical coin with the artwork, symbolism and history behind one of America’s most recognizable silver dollars.

THE PEACE DOLLAR DESIGN

The Peace Dollar was designed by Anthony de Francisci and first issued in 1921. The original series was minted from 1921 to 1928 and again from 1934 to 1935.

Its obverse depicts Liberty in profile, with swept-back hair and a crown of rays. The design is associated with the peace following the First World War.

Unlike the Walking Liberty half dollar, the Peace Dollar depicts only Liberty’s head and neck. The seated body, classical clothing and hand positions in this sculpture are an artistic interpretation created to extend that portrait into a complete figure.

DESIGNED FOR PEACE DOLLARS

This display pairs a Peace Dollar with a sculptural interpretation of the Liberty portrait on its obverse.

The holder can be tailored to your coin’s diameter and thickness, including the approximately 38.1 mm diameter of a Peace Dollar. Other U.S. coins can also be accommodated with an appropriately sized holder.

The platform positions the coin beside Liberty’s upper body, allowing the coin and sculpture to be appreciated together. The amount of the figure covered by the coin will depend on your chosen statue height and coin size.

Please provide your coin’s diameter and thickness in the personalization field so the holder can be adapted to your chosen coin.

HISTORICALLY INSPIRED DESIGN

The head draws inspiration from de Francisci’s Peace Dollar portrait, particularly Liberty’s radiate crown and flowing hair.

Her seated pose, draped gown and extended palm create a classical setting for the coin while giving the original portrait a full-body sculptural form.

This is an artistic interpretation, not an official U.S. Mint product.
