About this display
Display your U.S. coins alongside a sculptural interpretation of Abraham Lincoln as the railsplitter, designed to hold a Lincoln cent.
This coin display pairs the spirit of Victor David Brenner’s Lincoln cent portrait with a full-figure scene of Lincoln as a young rail-splitter. An integrated coin platform lets your cent become part of the composition.
Aurea Displays connects the physical coin with the imagery and history behind America’s longest-running circulating portrait.
The Lincoln cent was designed by sculptor Victor David Brenner and first issued in 1909 for the centennial of Abraham Lincoln’s birth.
Its obverse shows Lincoln in profile, adapted from Brenner’s earlier plaque and medal work. It was the first regularly circulating U.S. coin to portray a historical president rather than an allegorical Liberty.
The reverse has changed over time — from Brenner’s wheat ears to the Lincoln Memorial and later the Union Shield — while the familiar obverse portrait has remained the face of the cent for more than a century.
This sculpture does not copy the coin’s bust alone. It presents Lincoln in a railsplitter scene as a complementary historical interpretation, with the coin holder sized for a Lincoln cent.
This display is particularly suited to pairing a Lincoln cent with the figure.
Lincoln cents measure about 19.05 mm. The holder can be tailored to your coin’s diameter and thickness. Other small U.S. denominations can also be accommodated.
Please provide your coin’s diameter and thickness in the personalization field so the holder can be adapted to your chosen coin.
The portrait character of Lincoln draws on the historical figure celebrated on Brenner’s cent, while the railsplitter pose is a narrative sculptural setting rather than a direct copy of the coin’s bust.
It is an artistic interpretation, not an official U.S. Mint product.
The coin rests naturally on the integrated platform without being glued, clamped or permanently attached, making it easy to place and remove.
Pairing the sculpture with a Lincoln cent allows you to display the coin alongside a three-dimensional historical scene.
The coin shown in the photographs is for display purposes only and is not included.
Lincoln cents and other small U.S. coins are the recommended choices for this design.
Coin dimensions vary between denominations and types. Please provide the diameter and thickness of the coin you intend to display when ordering.
